The Friends of the Khong District Foundation” is committed to the population of Khong, the most southern district of Laos. The kilometres-wide Mekong River is in the area and many of its residents live near the river or on one of the many islands.  

Our foundation helps people in Laos to provide a better living situation for themselves. 

Eventually the goal is to strengthen the whole community in the process. The people are stimulated to take the lead to provide better health care, organize better education and to start their own companies. 

They will be supported by competent volunteers from their own country. We don’t hire expensive volunteers to fly to Laos. We have excellent contacts and a good collaboration with the local organizations in Laos.
