Where do we work?
Laos
Laos is the only country in Southeast Asia which is entirely surrounded by other countries. Partly due to the absence of a coastline, Laos has been isolated for a long time. Laos, in an environmental way, is one of the most unspoiled countries. You can enjoy vast rainforest, wooded mountain ranges and brilliant rivers. In addition, Laos has one of the best preserved cultures of Indochina and its way of living is more easy- going than in other Southeast Asian countries.
Kind People
Laotian people are very kind. Whether you can speak English with them or not, they’re always ready to help you. Many people who have backpacked through Laos for the first time, after having seen other countries, are caught by the tranquility of the people. This makes travelling through Laos an unforgettable experience.
Khong District
In the southern tip of this province lies our jewel, the Khong District. This region is also known as Si Phan Don or ‘the Southern Laos, the cradle of traditional culture
Southern-Laos has many sights in a relatively small area. It is where the unique Bolaven plateau is located with very diverse natural surroundings, spectacular views, stunning falls and indigenous tribes. Champassak, the main town and former royal residence, is also worth a visit. At this moment, it is a small sleepy town near the shores of the Mekong River. However, it is an excellent base for a tour to the famous Wat Pu, one of the remains of the Khmer history. This is a huge temple complex at the foot of a holy mountain. Wat Pu is a bit worn down, but this just contributes to the mysterious atmosphere of the buildings and surroundings.
The 4000 islands’. You can find fascinating geological sights in this area. This includes the fantastic landscapes with river views, falls and the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins. In many lovely villages, you can witness the traditional countryside lifestyle and you can meet the hospitality of the people. Take a boat trip down the Mekong River and you can get a glimpse of the French legacy and some remains of the rich colonial past. You can also visit the widest fall in Southeast Asia called the Khon Pha Pheng and of course, be able to see one of our projects.
